Our Community .. Committees
Building our Volunteer Community

One of the very special and inspirational things about our community is the depth and breadth of participation by so many of us in the activities of our synagogue. We have activities of some sort going on weekly (often daily), with a diversity of programs that meet the interests of almost everyone ... from religious programs to adult education, social action and more.

Participation in these activities is important and fulfilling in different ways. First, the activities are selected and continue because they provide enriching experiences for individual participants. Second, the involvement of those who plan these activities provides a meaningful and enjoyable way to be a part of the PCS community - to meet new people and to share experiences in activities that are of common interest.

It has been our tradition, in the short life of PCS, that virtually all congregants participate in a variety of activities, and, as we've grown, it is a source of pride that so many have been members of committees. Committee membership is an opportunity to give of one's self to our community and to be involved. The committees are critically important, because, as a volunteer organization, the work of the committees is what makes most of these activities happen.

If at least one member of each family is on a committee we will all benefit. The synagogue's activities will be then be enriched and reflective of our collective needs. Each family will have another connection to the community. It is our goal is to continue to make our Jewish community life a loving, caring and engaging one for all members of PCS, one that is inclusive for everyone.

Please look over the attached list and consider joining a committee or two that interests you. It is possible this list is not complete but it is a start. Call the synagogue office (769-2672) and speak with our Director, Gale Silverberg, to volunteer or request more information.
