Friday nights at 7:15-8:30pm
Saturday mornings at 9:00am-12pm
Candle lighting times & Torah portions
Our Friday night service is a joyous welcome to the "day of being." We gather to sing, chant, and (at one point) even dance. A way to transition from the pulls and stresses of the week to a more centered, calm, and forgiving place. Friendships are born on Friday night!
Our Saturday morning service begins at 9:00 am, and usually runs until about noon. The first hour, some say, is the most "spiritual" part of the morning service. We basically follow one rule: when we have a choice to either read or sing, we sing! At about 10:00 am we begin our Torah service, a discussion about the weekly reading and the chanting of the Torah portion by members of our synagogue community. Every service is followed by a light "kiddush" luncheon to which everyone is warmly welcome.
Join us for our informal Torah study at about Noon, following Shabbat services and Kiddush almost every week. A rotating group of leaders - including members of the community, visiting teachers, and our own Rabbi Mark - ensure a varied and vibrant discussion! Absolutely no prior knowledge or experience (or service attendance) is necessary.
And don't forget our monthly "Family Education Shabbat" service - which is focused on small-group Torah study for all!
Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are communal, not private celebrations, and take place within the context of our ongoing spiritual community; a community in which we hope you will want to take part.
