Morning Meditation
"The root of everything is meditation" - Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azzulai (The Chida, 1724-1806)
"Morning Meditation" is open to PCS members, as well as to non-members; Jews, as well as to interested non-Jews. We may think of meditation as an "eastern" practice. But, as the great teacher of Jewish Meditation, Aryeh Kaplan, reminded us, "Judaism is an Eastern religion that migrated to the West." One needn't have a background in Judaism or meditation to derive benefit from these sessions - simply a desire to begin to achieve an inner peacefulness through the quieting of the mind, and the exploration of various simple mindfulness techniques. "Morning Meditation" is led by congregant/practitioners and by Rabbi Mark. We meet in the sanctuary on scheduled Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 am, prior to the Shabbat service.
