For a small congregation, Pleasantville Community Synagogue has an amazingly active Adult Education program. We have been fortunate over these past few years to have been able to bring in as scholars-in-residence some of the leading lights of Jewish spirituality (Rabbis Lawrence Kushner, Shefa Gold, Marcia Prager, and Chazzan Jack Kessler), of Jewish thought (Drs. Neil Gilman, Michael Chernick, and Alan Morinis), and of Jewish Healing (Rabbis Zahara Davidowitz Farkas and Pamela Wax).

In the past we have offered Adult Education classes and workshops in: Hebrew, Talmud, Torah and Haftarah Cantillation, the Philosophy of Dr. Abraham Joshua Heschel, Jewish Denominations, Jewish Parenting, Women’s Torah Study, Sacred Autobiography; wonderful lay-lead studies of the Jewish calendar, the period called the Omer, and more.
