PCS' rabbi, Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan, holds a Ph.D. in Hebrew Studies, specializing in Rabbinic Literature, and has taught both university and adult education courses for many years. Rabbi Julie kicked off the First-Wednesday-of-Every-Month Adult Education programming with a 2-part series: "The Greatest Book Ever Written" (Dec. 2, 2015) and "The Greatest Book Never Written" (Jan. 6, 2016). Check the calendar to see what's next!
Rabbi Julie leads a class on "The Teachings of Reb Zalman," on Saturdays at 12:30 pm to 1:15pm, following the Shabbat Kiddush lunch at noon. She also leads Jewish Spiritual Teachings and Meditation at 9:15 am prior to Shabbat services. You can attend these programs whether or not you attend the services.
In addition, Adult Education programming at PCS offers Scholars-in-Residence Shabbatons, Israeli film screenings, and lectures and discussions on a wide variety of topics. Contact Adult Ed chair, Barbara Doctor, with any questions or suggestions.
Every Thursday, an informal "lunch and discuss" with the rabbi is held at noon. Bring a (meatless) bag lunch and join the rabbi and others for a discussion about the holidays and other Jewish topics.
