Shabbat Services
Service Times
Members, non-members, children, and adults are welcome and warmly invited to all of our services. Click here for details on special services such as Meditation, Family Education, Children's Services and more...
Friday nights at 7:15-8:30 pm
Saturday mornings at 9:30 am-12pm
Candle lighting times & Torah portions
Our Friday night service is a joyous welcome to the "day of being." We gather to sing, chant, and (at one point) even dance. A way to transition from the pulls and stresses of the week to a more centered, calm, and forgiving place. Friendships are born on Friday night!
Saturday morning we begin with meditation at 9 a.m., followed by our joyous morning service at 9:30 a.m. Our service basically follows one rule: when we have a choice to either read or sing, we sing! At about 10 a.m. there is a lively discussion about the weekly Torah reading followed by the chanting of the Torah portion by members of our synagogue community. Every service is followed by a light "kiddush" luncheon at noon to which everyone is warmly welcome.
Join us for our informal Torah study at about noon, following Shabbat services and Kiddush almost every week. A rotating group of leaders - including members of the community, visiting teachers, and our own Rabbi Mark - ensure a varied and vibrant discussion! Absolutely no prior knowledge or experience (or service attendance) is necessary.
And don't forget our monthly "Family Education Shabbat" service - which is focused on small-group Torah study for all!
Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are communal, not private celebrations, and take place within the context of our ongoing spiritual community; a community in which we hope you will want to take part.
