Candle lighting times & Torah portions

Our Friday night service is a joyous welcome to the "day of being." We gather to sing and chant, and sometimes even dance. A way to transition from the pulls and stresses of the week to a more centered, calm, and forgiving place. Friendships are born on Friday night!

Saturday morning we begin with spiritual teachings and meditation at 9:30 a.m., led by Rabbi Ben or Peter Schaffer, followed by our joyous morning service at 10 am (9:30 a.m. if there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah). Our service is full of joyful singing and we have musical accompaniment at B'nei Mitzvah on Saturdays. There is a lively discussion about the weekly Torah reading followed by the chanting of the Torah portion by members of our synagogue community. Every service is followed by a light "kiddush" luncheon at noon to which everyone is warmly welcome.

Join us for our interactive Torah study, following Shabbat services and Kiddush every week, 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm.  Absolutely no prior knowledge or experience (or service attendance) is necessary.

Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are communal, not private celebrations, and take place within the context of our ongoing spiritual community; a community in which we hope you will want to take part.
