Pleasantville Community Synagogue
Who We Are
The people entrusted with the care of this community.
Board of Trustees, 2026–2027
Our trustees are congregants first. They set direction, steward the building and the budget, and keep the doors open and the music going. They are also the people you will find setting up chairs, greeting newcomers, and staying late to lock up.
Every one of them is reachable. If something here matters to you — an idea, a concern, a way you want to help — say so.

How the Board Is Organized
In June 2026 the congregation adopted new bylaws that organize the board's work into four domains, named for the four worlds of Kabbalah. Each domain gathers the committees and projects that belong to it.
Atzilut
Sacred Life
Worship, holidays, lifecycle, and the spiritual life of the congregation.
B'riah
Learning & Formation
Hebrew school, b'nai mitzvah, adult education, and lifelong learning.
Yetzirah
Community & Connection
Membership and belonging, tikkun olam, community relations, and volunteer coordination.
Assiyah
Operations & Sustainability
Finance, facilities, staffing, and the practical work that keeps PCS running.
How we meet
The four domains meet monthly. The full board gathers quarterly. The structure is built so that the work happens close to the people doing it, and the whole board keeps sight of the whole community.
Bring us something
A question about a decision, a project you want to start, an interest in serving — the board wants to hear it. Reach out and we will point you to the right domain.
Or write to us through the contact page.
