Musical Shabbat

Once a month we welcome Shabbat with the band. We sing and chant, and sometimes even dance — a way to move from the pulls and stresses of the week toward something more centered, calm, and forgiving. Friendships are born on Friday night.

• 5:30 pm Shalom Shabbat — a fun, interactive service for ages 0 to 10 and their grownups.
• 6:00 pm Shabbat dinner for all — RSVP link goes out in the monthly newsletter.
• 7:00 pm Musical Shabbat service — with Rabbi Ben, Rabbi Shosh, and the band.

Some months bring their own shape. On Erev Sukkot we eat pizza in the sukkah and launch a book.

Contemplative Shabbat

A quiet Kabbalat Shabbat, in the Community Room or from home. We slow down, breathe, and welcome the Sabbath bride together with gentle melodies, guided mindfulness meditation, sacred silence, and candles lit by everyone in the room and on the screen.

• 7:15 pm In person at PCS and on Zoom — through 8:00 pm.
• Bring Your own Shabbat candles — if you’re joining from home.

Saturday morning · weekly

Shabbat Morning

Full of joyful singing, with musical accompaniment when there’s a B’nai Mitzvah. There’s a lively discussion of the weekly Torah reading, then the portion is chanted by members of our community.

• 10:00 am Shabbat morning service — 9:30 am when there’s a B’nai Mitzvah.
• After Kiddush luncheon — light lunch, and everyone is warmly welcome.
• 12:30 pm Torah study — interactive, through 1:15.
